6 more essential supplies for digital scrapbooking

In a previous post, we shared the 7 essential supplies for digital scrapbooking. These included:

  • Photos that speak to you
  • A great handwriting font
  • Neutral textured paper
  • A classy alpha
  • Several fresh but timeless kits
  • Software that meets your needs
  • A source of inspiration

Think of that as a beginner’s supply list. To take your stash to the next level, even a Simple Scrapper cannot live on the basics, freebies or full kits alone. It takes very special elements, not always found in kits to put that spit-shine on your layouts. Shop smart by clicking on the images and open to a new tab!

1. Stitching

Whether a small line of stitches or an entire border, the look of hand-sewn thread on a layout is the perfect finishing touch. These elements “ground” your layout and can take it from wow to pow!

2. Doodled borders

You’ve gathered bright papers, perhaps a few flowers and a fun alpha – but your page just does not have that sense of whimsy you’re after. Try hand-drawn doodles to take it to that level.

3. Worn out overlays

It’s so fun to layer papers, but tears and uneven edges create that aged look squares just can’t meet. Tattered overlays are absolutely perfect for giving that special touch to your second background paper.

4. Date stamps

Whether you are hard-core into Project 365 or not, marking the date on your layout helps preserve that memory and prevent “when was that again?” syndrome in the years ahead. They are many ways to capture time on your page – these are just a few.

5. Bracket and scallop mats

Break out of the box with these fun shapes – and use them as-is or clipped with a great paper. Whatever shape you choose, these so-useful goodies are a must-have in any scrapper’s toolbox.

6. Everyday word art

With essentials, you want pieces to use again and again. A lot of word art is super-specific, so look for those little gems that speak loudly of your day to day life.

Simple Scrapper has combed the shops to find the best examples of these 6 new essentials. Many of these items joined my wishlist – did they join yours?

Today we have an amazing quick page freebie courtesy of Digiscrap.ch! From the Moulin Rouge kit, this QP totally rocks red and white! After you snag the page and the kit, don’t forget to check out Sylvie’s matching alpha freebie!
