Whether you’re participating in Project 365 or not, many of our photographs highlight the more mundane aspects of life. Without a theme, it can sometimes be a little more challenging to preserve those memories on a scrapbook page. This post will offer great tips to help you find your story and cherish the every day.
1. Use one photo to tell a longer story – In the example I share below (with today’s freebie!), the journaling is not about my stepson playing basketball. It’s about him being 18 – technically an adult but more like a kid than anything else.
2. Use a P365 template – There are a lot of free (and not so free) multi-photo templates designed for Project 365 scrapping. Don’t worry if you don’t have a photo-a-day, but use those templates to help assemble a collection of related photos.
3. Make lists – You have just the cutest photo of your daughter, but it was just a normal day. Use that great photo as an opportunity to list all the reasons she makes your heart flutter.
4. Reflect on your gratitude – Snap a photo of the dirty dishes and use that image to reflect on the time you spend with your children instead of keeping a perfect house.
5. Focus on you – With our darling family members everywhere, it can sometimes be a challenge to scrap your own story. Use the images of daily life to create your own personal memoir.
6. Associate the imagery – Use the colors, textures and stories behind a photo as a launch point for a completely unrelated story.
7. Create a routine – Take the same photo of a tree, your child’s height or that growing baby belly for a future scrapping project.

Love your layout and the journalling tips. I have a hard time finding photos that will fit in thin narrow frames like the one above. Guess I will have to put my thinking cap on.
