A retreat for digital scrappers

This is a guest post from Christie Stearns, who writes the Hand-Picked Freebies blog. When I found out she was heading to Utah this spring for a digital crop, I asked her to fill us in on the fun!

This year is the 3rd annual Digital Scrapbook Memories Retreat! Have you heard about it? It is a fun-filled time of learning, scrapping, and being surrounded by other digi-scrappers! It’s taking place at the lovely Newpark Resort nestled in the beautiful mountains of Park City, Utah.

The retreat is technically two days long, with April 23rd & 24th containing full days of classes. However, if you arrive earlier in the day on the 22nd, you also have to option of attending bonus classes that evening in photography, basic Photoshop and a pen tablets.

New this year is separation of participants into groups from beginner to advanced. I think this is a great idea for all! Beginners won’t feel left behind, and more experienced scrappers will get to focus on things that are new for them also!

Classes throughout the retreat include lessons in Photoshop, using brushes, using templates, doing two page layouts, good design, and so much more. There is also cropping time, and of course the retreat starts AND ends with a party! 🙂 It should be a great time.

You can view a full detailed class list on DSM’s message board. For more info on location, cost, and what to expect, visit this post titled “Who, What, Where, When Why?”

If you are interested in attending, definitely consider signing up on their message board and getting to know the people there. Many are based in Utah and attending the retreat, and a lot of people try to arrange splitting the cost of hotel rooms. Last but not least, if you’re ready to make the plunge, here’s where you can sign up!

I am looking forward to learning new things and spending quality time with others who enjoy this awesome hobby. I would love to see you there!
