Excellent travel gear for memory keepers

I travel quite a bit and am always looking for efficient and attractive solutions to transport all my gear. Air travel in particular has been looking for the best way to bring everything along!

In this post, I’m going to offer some of my personal picks (including items I actually use) for scrapbookers to haul cameras (and sometimes laptops). My picks trend towards fashionable and functional, with a focus on not looking like a camera (or laptop) bag.

As an FYI, if you choose to grab one of these items using the links below I receive a very small amount of compensation from Amazon that helps keep Simple Scrapper running.

Best Soft Point & Shoot Case:
Vera Bradley Coin Purse

This is a non-traditional pick, I know. I use this to keep my point & shoot safe from scratches in my purse – but also to conceal it. No one would ever know you have a camera in there!

Best Hard Point & Shoot Case:
Case Logic ECB-1 EVA Compact Camera Case

This lightweight, yet sturdy case will keep your camera protected from drops and spills. Perfect for houses with little hands.

Best Unisex DSLR Bag:
Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home

I am all about camera bags that don’t look like camera bags – which I why I own this one. The mini-messenger styling bag does a great job of storing a lot of gear and providing easy access for on-the-go shooting.

Best DSLR Bag for Women:
Epiphanie Lola Red

Gosh, this tote just makes me swoon. There are other fashionable options, but this option makes the cut for being a shoulder bag and darn hot!

Best DIY Solution:
Camaroo DSLR Insert

Have a tote or messenger bag that you love and want to convert it to a  camera bag? Try this option! I’ve got one ordered and can’t wait to test it out.

Best Laptop Sleeve:
Built NY Laptop Sleeve in French Bull Vine

I love my neoprene laptop sleeves, allowing me to slip the notebook into any kind of bag or backpack.

Best Laptop Tote for Women:
Dakine Ella Tote

I searched far and wide for a fun, modern tote that didn’t scream “laptop – please steal me”. Dakine is getting style right with this line.

Best Tech Tote

I’m still searching for the all-in-one tote-style laptop and DSLR bag. Do you know of one? The best non-backpack option I’ve found is the Brazillion Dollar Home by Crumpler, but its super expensive.

Best Camera + Laptop Backpack:

This is where the options burst wide open and I’m not really comfortable selecting just one pick. This is where you come in. Do you have a multi-purpose tech backpack you absolutely love? Link it up here. I’ve included a couple that I’ve found in my searching.
