Are you a marathon scrapbooker? Do you want to be? As crazy as it may sound, scrapbookers have a lot in common with runners. Both can run into the same problems – lack of time, isolation, a routine that has become more of a drudgery than a help. The good news? You can easily overcome these obstacles.
No, Lain won’t make you run 26.2 miles in just a few hours – but she will challenge you to scrapbook 26 layouts in 26 days! Through The Mother LOAD – A Scrapbook Marathon, part of the 4Experts series for 2011, Lain will show you how committing to making scrapbooking a priority in your life will help you:
- Scrapbook faster
- Love your pages more
- Actually USE your stash
- Connect with what you love best about this hobby of ours
The first two months of class will be spent on “basic training†to increase your stamina, refine your process, and get you mentally and physically ready for the ultimate challenge: creating a layout a day for the first 26 days of September. After you cross the finish line, there will be time for reflection – and celebration.
One lucky Simple Scrapper reader will win a free pass to The Mother LOAD, a $79 value! Simply leave a comment before noon CST on Tuesday, June 14th, sharing one area of your scrapbooking you’d like to improve. Entries that do not follow the instructions will be deleted.
For more information, please visit the course page at Big Picture Classes. Lain has also given Simple Scrapper readers a code for $20 of the purchase of you class. Enter “load2011″ at checkout to receive this discount.

Wow! What an awesome giveaway! I LOVE Lain & her LOAD challenges and have participated in every one so far – I have tons of layouts made and ready to put into the correct albums when I finally get a chance to organize. The area I would like to improve? Better design with embellishments. I have been working at it but there are lots of times when I look at my finished layouts and think “wow, my friend’s pre-k child or my 10 yr olds could have made a better looking page!”
I still keep putting pages together though.
LOL! : )
I would love to improve the idea of how to get the inspiration to start my pages. What to pick as far as embelishments, etc. when I finally pick my pics to use on the page. Thanks for the chance to win!
What a great giveaway! I’ve taken LOAD several times and loved it. As for an area of improvement, definitely my journaling. Thanks for the chance to win!
I’d like to work on journaling and how to spice it up so it doesn’t sound boring and the same over and over. I have no problem getting the facts down but after a couple of years of birthday layouts it can sound like the same ol’ thing.
Wow, what a great opportunity! Thanks for the chance.
I would love to learn to make decissions on how to approach a page/album and sticking to it. I lose su much time pondering…
I could definitly use some help on my titles. Mine are ok, but others are so much better. Thanks for the chance to win this class.
I have never taken one of Lain’s classes, but would love to! I could really use some more help on clustering….that and putting an album together without totally getting overwhelmed! thanks for the chance!
I’ve already signed up for this class but would love a chance to take it for free!
The area that I need to improve on: choosing paper and then getting started.
One area of my scrapbooking that I would like to improve is actually completing more pages. Lately I’ve gotten distracted with other things and want to get back to creating layouts.
One area of scrapbooking that I would really like to improve on is to use some embellishments and bling on my pages…I have lots of stamps, buttons, etc. and when it comes down to it, I don’t know how to use them or where to put them. Help!
I would like to improve just getting a page done. Can’t seem to get started on anything. It has been months since i have done a page. I need to improve on taking the pictures off my camera. Bad about that. Thanks!
What an amazing giveaway! I have always wanted to take one of Lain’s classes and this would be amazing.
I would love to be able to work on my balance of embellishments more. I want to have the perfect balance and use what I have (or can make).
I’d really like to improve/find my true style. I’ve been scrapbooking for years but still feel like there is a style breakthrough yet to come. Thanks for the chance to win a spot in Lain’s MotherLOAD class!
I would love to find a way to get myself motivated to actually make pages. I can motivate myself to organize supplies, edit photos, and make kits, but for some reason it’s hard to actually sit down and glue stuff together!
Great giveaway. Thanks for offering it. I would love to improve my embellishing skills.
I would like to improve my speed! I am the s-l-o-w-e-s-t scrapper ever!! I usually take 4-6 hours to finish a page.
What a great giveaway! This will be my first time participating in LOAD and I’m very excited! I think the biggest thing I’d like to improve about my scrapbooking is speed. I’d like to complete layouts faster. A close second would be developing my scrapping style.
I need this class so very bad. I love to scrapbook, but am struggling with a creation I can be proud of.
Wow what a giveaway! would love a spot in this class.
I’d like to b able to sit down and create a page in one sitting. I also have problems getting started some times so any help would be great
Now this is super intruiging! Ive been in a bit of a rut after 13 years of scrapping, and feeling like its a bit of a brain drain- need help! thanks for the chance, i must check this out!
OOHHH!! I would SO LOVE to get in this class–just can’t make the $ appear out of thin air though!! I think my biggest obstacle is trying to move past my perfectionist tendencies so that I can actually make the time to scrapbook.!
I have difficulties in committing to a page – be it embellishments, or papers. And this makes me a super slow scrapper. I’m hoping that I can get over this and just enjoy the process.
Well its not exactly Scrapbooking but the area I most want to improve is my photography! For actually creating pages, probably my design. I often struggle to build a page without a template and would love to improve my design skills! I’d also LOVE to win this class!!!!
Wow this sounds like such a fabulous class to be part of! I have been reading both this blog and Lain’s for a while now – you both just make so much sense!
What I really need to improve is actually FINISHING the layouts that I start!!! Either the perfectionist comes out and I can’t decide how to finish it or else the procrastinator decides to leave it til “later” (which never comes)…
This sounds like a great class! I would love to improve my journaling. I used to do all my journaling on the computer so I would write good chunks of journaling. Lately I have been handwriting my journaling and I tend to write a lot less. I want to tell more story on my layouts.
I would like to get better at being able decide which embellishments and paper to use more quickly, so that it would speed up the whole process for me. It takes me forever! Thanks for the chance to win this great class
Wow, what a great deal, and on the summer holidays as well
I would love to learn how to come up with better titles, mine always sound ho-hum.
I did the February LOAD challenge and realized I REALLY need to improve my journaling. Many days I was at a loss for words. Thanks for the chance to win!
What a wonderful opportunity!
I would like to improve the amount of time lost between purchase of gorgeous products (and photo taking) and getting round to making a page using the gorgeous products and photos!!!
There are so many areas of scrapbooking I would like to improve but the biggest one is organization. I start so many projects and then can’t find anything I know I have to finish them!
I would love to take Lain’s class.
After doing LOAD in May, I discovered I spent way too much time trying to pick out papers and embellishments. Would love to learn how to be quicker at that! Thanks for the opportunity
I would seriously pass out of excitement if I were would be so lucky. No worries I’d be up just in time for the class! For me I would love to improve on how to add more details to my pages with out being afraid that I am doing to much. Thanks so much for this amazing chance.
This is a fantastic opportunity!! I have a stash that is monsterous and I would really like to learn how to stop buying and start USING! Thank you for this chance!
