How to Print Instagram Photos

by | Digital Photography Tips | 14 comments

Scrapbookers far and wide are in love with the iPhone-based photo sharing service Instagram. These adorable vintage-style photos could even be called the Polaroids of our time. But how do you get your photos off your phone and into your hands for scrapbooking? This video post will show you one way to do just that!

The following tutorial demonstrates where I download my Instagram photos and what I use to prepare them for printing. There are other methods for both steps, but this is the one I use the most. (Note: You may need to click over to the site to view the video.)

To download the free printing template featured in the video, log in to our members area or register for a free site account.

Have you printed your Instagram photos? What procedure do you follow?

P.S. You can get those fun page protectors here, but I’ll be sharing more details on what exactly I’m doing with them in a future post.

This is really interesting. I have an iphone but I am not familiar with instagram. I am ashame to tell you…I email the photo to myself and do all the cumbersome steps you referred to in the video to get the correct size. Thank you so much for the information.

I have Instagram on my iPhone but I tend to use Hipstamatic. My photos are automatically downloaded to my phone. This was a great tutorial. Great idea to use coin pockets!

I also use ink361.com but only for browsing with my laptop. I use the site instaport.me to download my IG photos by batch, no need to save one by one 🙂

Hi! I unfortunately do not have an iPhone. 🙁 only because I came across a great deal on a Samsung Galaxy S smart phone. 🙂 I do really like it! Of course no Instagram for droid, but I have found:
an app I like for my photos: BeFunkyPro..it costs $3.99 and it’s pretty cool!!

Thank you for the inspiration! I’d been putting my instagrams on a 4×6 canvas but still having trouble printing borderless to preserve those fab borders on the pictures. I d’load everything to iPhoto and use PSE so I just made a 8x5x11 template with 4 4x4in photos and stopped torturing myself!

Exactly! I stopped fighting with the printer to get those borders to look good and started printing bordered-things on larger canvases. I will still do four 2.5×3.5 prints on a 5×7 but without any borders.

when I use instagram, it saves to my camera roll, so I can import the files to my computer in the normal ways.

Thank you for the template – I love hipstamatic, as well as instagram (and often import hipstamatic photos into instagram), so this will be fantastic for printing smaller photos!

The easiest way I’ve found to print Instagram pictures is to use PostalPix (they have an app in the App Store), but they don’t yet do 2×2 prints. When I want smaller prints I do as you do, assembling my photos (which automatically download to my computer from the Camera Roll) on a larger canvas.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I’ve been trying to use Printstagram and also Snapstagram but for some reason these two sites dont work on my computer and its been driving me bonkers. Now I can print my own Instagram prints at home thanks to your wonderful tutorial and template. Thank you once again – I’m no longer going bonkers 🙂
