You can get instant access to a library of more than 400 Story Starter™ prompts when you become a member at Simple Scrapper.

This layout from Jennifer Larson tells the story of a night club she went to when she studied abroad in Germany, one particular song she remembers hearing there and what it means to her today.

Music was a huge part of my late husband’s life. He would have music playing 24/7 if he could. Since he passing 6 months ago, the house is mostly quiet – sometimes that most innocent of songs will bring tears. There are two particular songs that I can not listen to at all – “Right Here Waiting” and “Old and Wise”.

The beginning our our relationship was turbulent and things were trying to pull us apart. The sing “Right Here Waiting” fit us perfectly. Even now, after his recent passing, it still fits because I know that he is right there waiting for me.

“Old and Wise” was a song that had deep meaning to him and fit how he wanted his family and friends to view his life and his passing.

So, I share both those layouts with you.

Inspiration for my “Soundtrack of Life” layout comes from one of my late father’s favorite songs “Sentimental Journey.” I can still hear the scratchy old 78 rpm record quite clearly in quiet moments. The journaling on the layout includes the song lyrics and how I came to scrap my parents wedding photo as the start of their own sentimental journey.
I used a Simple Scrapper template from June 2015, watercolor papers from Snickerdoodle Designs “Ramblin Rose” line, and elements from Just So Scrappy’s “Mom Kit.”
Thanks for the challenge – I like to use challenges to kickstart my scrapping. It took me quite a long time to pull this layout together (I changed papers, color scheme and embellishments several times!), but I’m happy with the final results.
