Is Starbucks really the best part of your story?

I’m as guilty as the next scrapbooker for over-documenting my coffee and under-celebrating the most treasured people in my life. But why do we do that?

It’s the path of least resistance!

We take so many photos that it’s enough of a challenge to manage them all, let alone document the good stuff. So when it comes time to scrapbook, we often grab the easy, pretty shots we know what to do with. From your latest selfie to that one-millionth cute photo of your kid, you know the pictures you tend to scrap again and again.

I totally do it too:

Crafty friend, please ask yourself:

Is it time to tell the real story?

Hi, I’m Jennifer Wilson!

I live in central Illinois with my husband Steve and 8-year-old daughter Emily. It was much harder for us to handle sleep-away camp than it was her. You might have heard me on the Scrapbook Your Way podcast! I’ve been teaching at Simple Scrapper for more than a decade, but I’ve never done anything like this before. I’m thrilled to introduce…

The Bucket List Project

The Bucket List Project is a 9-month invitation to tell more of the stories that matter. From January 28 through October 26 you will commit to scrapbooking at least 12 “Bucket List” stories, while cultivating a consistent creative practice using Trello.

Here’s what you’ll get:

Weekly Prompts

Stay inspired to tell the real story with prompts and example layouts, including 12 exclusive projects from me!

Trello Template

Learn to more effectively plan and execute your scrapbook pages, big and small, with our new layout accountability template.

Community Support

Receive feedback and encouragement in a collaborative community setting right inside of the Trello app.

Yep, you’re reading that right. This class will take place entirely in Trello! You will develop new skills to organize your ideas and projects, serving you well beyond this experience.

Wait, what is this Trello thing?

Trello is a free visual project management tool that uses boards, lists, and cards. Think of it like sticky notes on steroids… but on your computer and your phone. It’s pretty easy to learn and beginners are welcome.

Journaling is tough for me. Will this class help?

The core premise of The Bucket List Project is that doing the work makes it easier. The more you practice starting with story, whether the stories are “Bucket List worthy” or just small moments, the more you will feel comfortable with journaling. The examples shared each week will offer both story perspectives as well as structures that can make writing easier.

Is this class included with membership?

No, it’s completely separate from the membership. However, we do have a coupon code available for our members.

Um, I love scrapbooking my coffee. Is that wrong?

Not at all. I am 100% for celebrating all the little things that make life good. I love including all the things I’m eating and drinking in my albums… and I don’t plan to stop. But at the same time, I’m on a mission to tell more of the richer, more complex stories of my life. The Bucket List Project is an opportunity to find more balance in your storytelling.

The Bucket List Project isn’t about documenting the hard stuff. It’s about building the legacy that led you to scrapbooking, one story at a time. Are you ready to celebrate the memories that keep you taking photos and coming back to this hobby year after year?

I loved scrapbooking, but I always felt something was missing. This year I am doing it my way and that joy is greater than it has ever been.

Patty P.

I just wanted to send an email to thank you and also let you know how much I appreciate everything you do for your members. This last couple of months since becoming a member I have been more productive than I have in the last few years creatively.”

Catherine C.

When I first started following you, I had almost stopped scrapbooking. I just couldn’t give myself permission to take the time and I felt too overwhelmed by how many pictures I wanted to scrapbook. I’m happy to say you have helped me see it is an important priority that I have a right to make time for. I just finished an album for my daughter of her childhood pictures!

Marilyn A.

“Thank you so much for getting me to think out of the box. On some levels I’m feeling relieved and at peace. I’m really looking forward to the new year and all that I’ll be able to accomplish.”

Liz F.

Thank you for helping me find my energy and enthusiasm and perspective once again! I love your classes and they seem to get better and more focused with each time.”
