OUR 10th annual Planning Party

What if scrapbooking felt like a deep breath?

You don’t have a motivation problem.

If you’re like most of us, you love this hobby.

And yet. The photos keep coming faster than you can scrapbook them. You sit down with an hour to create and spend forty minutes deciding what to work on.

Scrapbook projects start with the best intentions, then a busy season swallows them whole. By the end of the year, you’re wondering where the time went and even feeling guilty about all the things you didn’t complete.

None of that is a personal failing. It’s what happens when a meaningful hobby doesn’t have a plan behind it. You’re a capable, organized person. This part of your life just never got the same thoughtful structure you give everything else.

That’s what the Planning Party is for.

“The annual start to my planning process! Before the Planning Party, I planned all my ‘have-tos’ without leaving room for my ‘want-tos.’ Flipping the script and thinking about my creative goals, energy levels, and season of life first has been a game-changer, giving me the permission and the courage to put more of what defines me into my annual plans.”

Picture next December.

You’re flipping through what you made in 2027. Not everything you could have made. The stories you decided mattered most, finished and in your hands.

All year, sitting down to create felt different. The big decisions were already made, so your creative time went to creating. When life interrupted (it always does), your plan bent instead of breaking, and you found your way back.

That’s what a plan gives you. Not pressure. Peace of mind, made in advance.

A gentle process, not a productivity bootcamp.

During the week of November 9, we’ll move through the guided planning workbook in three steps: Reflect, Explore, and Clarify.

You’ll start with what’s already working, consider your season of life, and take an honest inventory of your hobby. Then you’ll sort your ideas into what to start, improve, finish, and try.

The part participants tell us changes everything is deciding what enough looks like for you. Maybe it’s ten stories. Maybe it’s one album. And you’ll have full permission to let go of what no longer serves you.

You’ll leave with a flexible 2027 plan and a first step you can take right away. In early January, we’ll regroup to refine it.

Here’s what you’ll receive:

  • The 2027 Planning Workbook, a beautiful printable or fillable PDF you’ll return to all year.
  • Recordings of everything, so you can participate on your own schedule.
  • Live guided sessions where Jennifer walks through the key activities and answers your questions.
  • A closing workshop that brings your whole plan together.
  • Community discussion and co-working time, because talking through your ideas with other scrapbookers is half the magic.
  • And a January regroup session to finalize your plan.

Your registration bonus: The Format Finder

One of the most common places plans stall is format. Is this story a layout? A mini album? A photo book? Something else entirely? The moment you register, you’ll receive The Format Finder: How to Choose the Best Format for Your Idea, a practical tool for matching each story to the format that will actually get it finished. Use it before the event to warm up your thinking, and all year whenever a new project idea appears.

What Participants Love

“I’ve become a much more effective and accurate planner by attending Simple Scrapper’s Planning Party the past two Novembers. I become easily excited by and enticed by all of the new classes and trends, but now learn to first consult my Planning Party tools so that I can realistically discern whether or not I will have the time, energy, and desire to take on a certain project at the suggested time of year, or whether I’ve already got enough on my plate. This has saved me so much frustration and disappointment by not over committing!”

Natalie S.

“It’s the ultimate antidote to thoughtlessly carrying on with the way you’ve always done things!”

Emily S.

“Planning Party is a welcome touchstone as my creative life winds down at the end of each year. The invitation of its clear and direct guided prompts, community workshops, and quiet reflection, reminds me to step back and remember what it is about this hobby that brings me joy. Make no mistake, it feels great to be organized, but the real gift is the spark of fresh excitement for my hobby that builds momentum for the coming year.”

“I love the invitation to focus on planning in early November, before the holiday craziness sets in! Planning projects and classes I want to do in advance also helps me create a better wish list to share with my family.”

Questions, answered

Every session is recorded, and the workbook is yours to complete at your own pace. Many participants do a mix of live and on-their-own-time. The January regroup gives you a natural second window, too.

Yes. The Planning Party serves paper, digital, and hybrid scrapbookers alike. The planning process is about your stories and your season of life, not any particular product or format.

This is the most common worry, and the answer from years of participants is no. Your plan is a starting point, not an ironclad contract. We build in space for new ideas, busy seasons, and changing your mind. You always have permission to adjust.

Plan on 6 hours across the event if you attend everything live, though you can absolutely do less. The workbook activities are designed to be meaningful without being heavy.

Your plan comes with you. We regroup in early January to refine it, and if you choose to join the membership, our year is organized into two-month Creative Journeys that support the very plan you just made.

It’s a real, complete planning experience on its own, and participants leave with a finished plan whether they join or not. We do host the Planning Party as our annual invitation into membership, and near the end we’ll share what 2027 looks like inside and a special invitation for participants. No pressure, ever. That’s not how we do things.

If the Planning Party isn’t for you, reply to any email within 30 days and we’ll refund your $5.

A new year is coming either way.

The difference between a year that blurs past and a year you’re proud of isn’t more time, more supplies, or more talent. It’s a little bit of intention, invested now, in good company. Come make your plan with us.
