I’m going on a scrapbook retreat the weekend after NSD. So I definitely need to get organized!

what a cute kit. This week has been interesting as finding more ways to be green has been at the forefront of my thoughts. I recycle packaging for almost everything in the kitchen area, but my scrapbook station is not getting the recycle attention it deserves.

The end of the semester is near so I have a presentation and some research papers to finish. This is what is on my mind these days!
I’ve spent a lot of time this week working on organizing digiscrap supplies with much more to do.

Doesn’t organizing your digi supplies take forever?!? What system do you use? I put my elements in separate folders, but now I’m wondering if I should have separated out some of those kits . . . Good luck!
I’m going on a preschool field trip to the zoo, after we got rained out last week.
Thinking about the fact that our trip to Disney is less than three weeks away. I’m not worried about travel arrangements and packing…I am thinking about how to best document the experience and find ways to share it throughout each day.

Just a thought about your trip: make up a little wallet-y, bag-gy thing that you can use to collect memorabilia and what-nots while you are making your memories so you can keep them together. Perhaps consider what kinds of photos you want to make sure and take, etc. Ali Edwards has an article on her blog that gives the basics of how to do this. That way you’ll be ready to go on your scrapbook pages (paper or dig) when you get home. I’ll try to find a link to the blog page. Have fun!

My mind is with our dear friend that is fighting leukemia and spending a month in the hospital.
The weekend holds no special plans….Everything will depend on the weather.

I have been thinking about this lately and I have a group of friends that agree.
Why do sites promote events to attract new members and then allow the cliques to dominate the site.
This happened recently to a group of us that were made to feel unwelcome with snarky comments and a generally unwelcoming vibe.
The digital market has shrunk because of the current economy and a short term influx of dollars to a site from new members will not continue if they leave with a bad taste in their mouths.
This closeted atmosphere is pervasive at some sites and I feel that this ia very sad and bad for the digital community on the whole.
Digital scrapbooking is also about making friends and to share and help each other.
It seems we didn’t leave the “mean girls” in high school.
This is the first time I experienced this personally but digi friends have told me of at least 3 other sites where this is a common occurrence.
Why the “look down your nose” attitude to new members that aren’t part of the regulars.
Bewildered – While I don’t disagree that this behavior exists, I also don’t think its unique to digital scrapbooking. The internet provides a certain veil of anonymity that facilitates people acting in ways they wouldn’t in everyday life.
I also think, though, that some sites only appear to feel cliquish and there is nothing mean-spirited going on. That feeling is simply an artifact of there being regulars and newcomers. The only way to get over that hump is to jump right in, participate and become a regular.
In the end, you can only control your own behavior. I think its important to focus on giving, sharing, teaching and helping. It may be YOUR positivity that changes the dynamic of a place.
Your point is well taken, however how many times can you knock your head against a closed door and not recognize, it’s not going to be opened to you.
Many of us tried to participate in the forum and were either ignored or snide comments would be posted and directed towards us. We also made it a point to comment in the gallery as a way to initiate friendship.
I think the reason this was so disturbing was that I am active in about 4 sites that are warm and fun. and this was such a bizaare atmosphere, it was actually surreal.
The one positive thing is that a whole group of newbies that were made to feel like “outsiders” have become friends and we help and encourage each other.
So this cloud did have a silver lining…..
Just going to some garage sales this weekend, I can’t wait!! Hopefully I will have time to scrap next week!
I am spending my weekend out of town w my sister and daughters for my cousins wedding shower so no scrapping for me. Hoping to do some on NSD!

Well i am looking forward to this NSD because it will be my first as a digital scrapbooker. I started looking into digi in January. I have only completed 6 pages but i am loving it. (Well I haven’t gotten them printed yet but…) That is more than i probably did in 2-3 years paper scrapping. So i look forward to digi NSD and I certainly am trying to be organized up front. Thank you so much! I am learning all i can.

Well thanks for the warm welcome. It is never too late!! I have simplescrapper on my lists of sites i visit usually daily. Haven’t ventured too much into many communities yet or posted any pages. Maybe some day. Thanks again.
Getting them printed is just the icing on the cake, isn’t it? I just love the satisfaction of how many digi pages I can make in such relatively short a time. We went to Yosemite last summer, and when we came home I digi-scrapbooked about 12 pages in two days and had the whole thing done! You’re going to be amazed! FUN!

I’m just wrapping up a whole bunch of legal stuff. I signed my will and other documents today. I also found out today I have been approved for intermittent FMLA and I’m through most of the process for getting my securities license. I’m also studying for two tests to obtain an industry designation and scheduled the fist test date for May 15. Is it Friday yet?

I have been working alot and in my spare time trying to get an album scrapped of when we built our house!
I love this kit. I am in the process of putting together quickpages for a baby boy’s first year album. A good friend of my daughter’s is having her first child at the age of 38, so I wanted to do something special. Quinton and Emma would be a great kit to work with.
Our weekends are always busy as we’re raising two grandchildren and have 5 others in addition. This weekend is no exception. My grandson who lives with me and my 5-year-old grandsons will be competing in BMX races both days. We have new bedroom furniture being delivered for him sometime on Saturday as well. Then, Saturday night is prom night for my granddaughter who lives with me. Sunday I’m volunteering at a local Earth Day event. I’ll have to go back to work just to rest up.
I hope everyone else has a wonderful weekend.

I have been focusing on getting a job!!! My gosh, what a terrible time to do so, eh? But, I remain optimistic… I am hoping I might get a job for my birthday!!! It’s coming up in a few days! I am hoping the birthday wishing fairies have rec’d my wish!

ANZAC Day is on Sunday. I have one son already a Soldier and another starting basic training in June. So whats on my mind, my children, in fact they’re always on my mind and are a constant source of scrapbooking inspiration. Lest We Forget.

I also have a son in the army–he’s in Korea learning to drive a tank! I have saved all of his basic training memorabilia and now I just have to do his book. Then I’ll give it to him to keep up. We’ll keep your kids in our prayers as well!
I am just trying to get through one more week of teaching school. WE just had spring break, and now I’m even more itchy for summer–and tons of scrapbooking.

Honestly I keep wondering why we have been almost 15 months of unemployment. I keep wondering what God’s plan is. Last year at this time (NSD) I was debating on whether I should open a scrapbooking store in the town I live in. Financially it would have been impossible but here I am another NSD coming up trying to figure out where and what we are supposed to be doing.
Sorry to be so “heavy” this morning in thought… with another child on the way that seems to happening a lot lately. Love the kit, especially since it can be used for either sex since we drive our families nuts by waiting until the baby is born to find out what we are having.
Hi Rebecca, my best advice is to come up with three next steps you can take to move forward. The questions you need to answer may be hard, but its a lot harder to feel stuck.
Also, I recommend Pema Chodron’s “Getting Unstuck” as well as watching any videos on Marie Forleo’s site!
