I had intended to take a nice selfie this morning I had intended to take a nice selfie this morning right after diffusing my hair, but I ran out of time before a virtual conference. So instead you get this one of me sitting in the rain at a softball game. My curls are πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ.

So for this week’s #Thursday3, here’s what’s real for me right now:

(1) I remember dropping off Emily at daycare the morning after Newtown. I sat in the car and bawled. I was scared for my own baby girl, yet somehow holding on to a glimmer of hope that this would be a turning point. This week offered a stark reminder that our legislators have wasted a decade. It’s time to remind them! πŸ₯Š

(2) I am my own target customer in this season of life. I’m struggling with finding the time, energy, and motivation to create consistently. I know it will come back and that I have all the tools I need, so I am focusing on avoiding distractions that might get me further off track.

(3) I’m experimenting with a 6:30-3 summer workday to create more opportunity for late afternoon and evening fun. I’m needing to lean hard on my Reminders app to remember to start winding down and considering a sleep mask for mid-summer when it is still light at bedtime.

P.S. for my curlfriends, I’ve been mixing AG Recoil and Jessicurl Rockin’ Ringlets as my first styler. Then using Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic as my gel. Topping with a foam or mousse for more volume and juicier clumps. Definitely some of the best results I’ve had in a while!
I've been thinking a lot about time.

How is it going so fast? How can I make it feel slower? Am I using my time "well" and how do I actually define that anyway?

As a #scrapbooker I consistently touch visual markers of time's passing. I do my best to record stories before they are forgotten and focus on feelings when I've lost the details.

This hobby offers a regular reminder to notice our connection to (or disconnection from) time. It's a chance to feel situated or grounded in the right now.

❀️ Just a few thoughts on my baby girl's last day of elementary school.
