May Work-a-Long Project: Task 2

in Scrapbooking Freebies

Wow – this is a fun project. I’m loving how we can scrap together! I’m thrilled to see all the entries – wasn’t it great to start with a simple template? Tonight I’ll post a poll where all readers can vote on their favorite Task 1 entry.

Before I pass out the instructions, I wanted to let everyone know that I have a guest post over at Scrapper’s Workshop today.

Task 2

  • In this task you will reflect on the past as it pertains to your subject. How has your subject changed and how has your subject changed you?
  • Use an extended journal entry to tell us about your journey with the subject and complement your writing with three photos, past or present.
  • Include your second word somewhere in the title of your page.
  • Build your story upon Template #2 below (optional, see reminders).

The Template

Originally, I was going to assign everyone to write a letter. However, it is just so very hard to write a letter to “camping”, so I loosened the rules just for you. But, I found the layout from which to create your template with this in mind – BrodoNY0123′s Cherry Blossoms.

Reminders

  • Submit a link to your entry in the comments by 11:59 pm Eastern on Tuesday, May 19.
  • Remember 3 out of 4 of your entries must use the templates.
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners receive $20, $10 and $5 gift certificates to Gotta Pixel. One random participant will also receive $5.

My Project

This one reached outside of my kit even less than round 1. I used my chosen kit, a line of stitching from Traci Reed and the Flux Architect font.

Thanks for this great template and for letting me play along.

Cheers!

My LO is A.L.M.O.S.T. done… (It just needs a little adjustments here and there, he,he!!). I must say… I am not a jornaler per say… But I am quite happy with the direction my LO is taking. Thanks so much for organizing this fun challenge. Last weeks LOs were all great… I can’t wait to see what this week will bring.

Out of curiosity… How many people are participating on this challenge? Did I miss any LOs from last week? Could we have a list of those that are definitively doing it, so we do not miss the LOs as they start rolling in?

Thanks!!

I don’t address the “Past, Present, Future” aspect in any linear manner, but I think they are all in there all the same.

This is fun. Great idea, Jennifer!

I chose to write the letter… The letter is to any traveler… The “advice” is based on my past experiences as a traveler, but in a way, the letter is also for myself, as a reminder to always have an open mind and be on the lookout for the road less traveled. It was a fun challenge this week! I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring…

One more post… Here is the text for the letter, It is not easy to read it in the smaller web format. I wish we could publish the 12x12s in full size!

Dear Traveler,

I hope you will embrace your journey with an open mind and the spirit of adventure. You see, traveling should not be about getting to the destination, but it should include the entire process of getting there as well. It should not be about doing the same things you always did, but instead, be about experiencing the adventure of immersing yourself in the culture and habits of locals and living life as it is lived wherever you are headed. You should be free of preconceived notions and ideas about wherever you are going, and form your opinions as your adventure unfolds. Go out there! See the world through the eyes of a child! Expect the unknown, and enjoy the unexpected! Traveling is an adventure! Embrace it!

Yours truly,

The road less traveled.
