Do not let spacious plans for a new world divert your energies from saving what is left of the old. – Winston Churchill

Weekly Recap

The beginning of January is so light and fresh. I just want to freeze the way I feel – the way we all feel – and come back to it all year long. There is so much inspiration, but this year it feels so much more practical, doable than years past.

I spent the bulk of my week focusing on finishing the materials and working with students on the 5 Simple Truths of Time Management, my free course that ends tonight. The archive of this class will be available for free members in perpetuity.

Working on this short course, and preparing for the 2 week Scrap Habits intensive that begins next week for premium members, has also given me a chance to think about how I want to spend my time. Thus, my memory keeping activities this week focused on putting together my own plan for the new year.

I started a 2012 bucket list that includes two big memory keeping goals:

  1. 80* meaningful layouts – digital and paper
  2. a family photobook capturing the highlights

The photobook will focus on the top 12 photos of each month, allowing me to feel both satisfied that the basic details have been documented and free to focus my layouts on deeper stories from past and present.

Weekend Reading

Every Friday at Simple Scrapper you are invited to join us for reflection on our memory keeping activities as well as our ongoing tradition ofΒ  sharing simple tips, tutorials and inspiring ideas from around the web.

*80 is the sum of my age and my husband’s age in 2012. 52 didn’t seem like enough and 80 sounded challenging (for me) but doable.
