I’ve asked Jean to step in for this Friday update. I’m offline for the long weekend, enjoying some time with friends and family. Wishing you all a wonderful Easter holiday! – Jennifer

This past week I transitioned back into my normal routine after a week away in Berlin, Germany. I visited Berlin with my husband and our youngest son, a college freshman. I returned from our trip energized to embrace my hometown with fresh eyes and make changes in our lifestyle, such as slowing down, especially with meals.
I took Ali Edwardsβ Scrapbook on the Road workshop before I left and incorporated her ideas into my memory keeping during the trip. In between unpacking my suitcase and doing loads of Β laundry, I’ve been going through my journaling, my collected ephemera, and photos from three cameras to document our adventure. After looking through a number of template choices, I selected Nettio Designβs Photo Book Frenzy: A Week in the Life 8Γ10 Templates. Iβm planning to put the printed layouts into a 3-ring binder into which Iβll also put the ephemera. Iβve got our daily itineraries recorded, and Iβm currently creating the layouts documenting our days, which serve as the album’s foundation. My next step will be creating the pages of observations and reflections.

As is often the case, our trip has me thinking about planning another trip. Since a big-budget trip isnβt in the cards at the moment, and Iβm not keen on leaving our golden retriever again so soon, Iβm looking at seeing Seattle through the eyes of a tourist. To that end both How to Be a Tourist with Your Dog Series: Seattle, Washington and Be a tourist in your hometown were interesting reads.
Iβm also planning some spring cleaning of my craft supplies, so Iβve been pouring over the eye candy at Craft Storage Ideas and I read How to Keep Your Creative Space Inspiring. I have a date on Saturday with my vacuum and my craft supply storage unit!
Every weekend at Simple Scrapper you are invited to join us for reflection on our memory keeping activities as well as our ongoing tradition ofΒ sharing simple tips, tutorials and inspiring ideas from around the web.
