The best galleries for your layouts

by | Scrapbooking Ideas | 10 comments

Sharing your pages in an online gallery is a great way to get involved in the community. You’ll not only help promote designers you love, but also put yourself out there to receive feedback. You can even participate in forum discussions called Praise Games, where you showcase a layout and ask for comments. However, if you’re new to digital scrapbooking, you might not know where to go. This post is for you.

Some galleries are “open”, meaning you can post layouts from any designer as long as they adhere to the size requirements of 150 K and 600×600 pixels. Others, usually affiliated with a particular shop or designer, request that you only post layouts using at least some of their products. Each site will vary in its requirements. This post is about those open galleries, because we want your layouts to have a home.

DigiShopTalk (DST) – This gallery is very fast paced, but it is the place to be. Dare I say it, but EVERYONE posts here. Due to occasional server issues, Simple Scrapper does not recommend you post exclusively here.

Gotta Pixel – This is a great place for newcomers to receive a warm welcome and a lot of comments on their pages.

My Scrapbook Art (MSA) & ScrapArtist – Super talented artists post at both of these galleries, but don’t be intimidated. The sites are open to anyone’s work. The galleries at MSA and ScrapArtist are slower paced than DST, so you’ll up the chance of getting a comment.

You might consider posting your layouts to several galleries, as backup or to get more feedback. Here’s what I do:

  • Everything, including QPs, to DigiShopTalk
  • All original LOs to My Scrapbook Art
  • Best LOs to ScrapArtist

This system allows me options when I want to share my gallery with others. I can either showcase all of my work or just the very best, depending on the situation.

Like with discussion forums, shop around for the right fit for you. It’s YOUR digi home, not ours!

Thanks for the info! Love Scrap Artsit but have not uploaded there in ages!

  2. Tammy

I love sharing my pictures with family and friends. And my hybrid scrapper family members love the ideas from my digital pages to help them out.

    Great informative post!

  5. Giovana (a.k.a. MsRed)

These are great tips! There are sooo many forums and galleries available, it’s hard to chose. As you said, DST seems like a “must post” place (every CT call requires it!).
I like GoDigitalScrapbooking. No size limit, max of 15 uploads a day. Couldn’t ask for more.
I do the others too, since people think they’re so essential. I won’t dare ScrapArtist just yet. Out of my league.

    Thanks for the info! 🙂

GDS (Go Digital Scrapbooking) is also a open forum and is my main posting area. The community is very friendly there. I also post at DST for CT requirements. I will post at SBF (Scrapbook Flair) because that is where I first started and they are also an open forum. Glad I am not the only one intimidated by the Scrap Artist board LOL.

Thanks. I was reading today’s post about linking to my gallery–and don’t have one. I like the freedom to use several different designers and was put off by the site specific requirements. Great suggestions, I’m off to creat a gallery today.
