“Jennifer, how do you do it all?” I’m asked regularly. Here’s the truth: There’s a lot that doesn’t get done and I have a lot of help.

A million years ago I was a contract employee for a scrapbooking website and designed their magazine. Not long after falling into that role I hired Neisha Sykes to help me coordinate that monthly publication.

When I started SPARK magazine here at Simple Scrapper in 2014 I knew that Neisha would have to be a part of it. Not only does she answer your customer service emails, but she brings together the work of our Featured Artists and our entire creative team with her graphic design talent for each and every issue.

Today marks the release of the 65th issue of SPARK (!) and it’s an endeavor that I could not do without Neisha and loads of help.

Melanie Ritchie creates the amazing sketches and digital templates based on our Featured Artist’s work, Amy Melniczenko coordinates our creative team, and Kim Edsen contributes to monthly features in the magazine (like our Story Starter prompts) AND inside of our community. And of course, our entire creative team makes gorgeous layouts to help you make each one of our creative starting points your own!

We create SPARK because we know you need all the help you can get to stay creative and connected to scrapbooking. As they say, it takes a village.

Inside of our 69-page issue of SPARK for May you will find:

  • An exclusive article on personalizing your approach to storytelling.
  • Five new, paper-loving sketches based on the work of Iris Fox.
  • Twelve new storytelling prompts on this month’s theme: Weekend.
  • Dozens of ideas and tricks to make scrapbooking easier.
  • 34 layouts to inspire and spark YOUR next page.

You can get the latest issue of SPARK, along with our entire back catalog, when you become a member today.
